入門華語會話(一)

This course will help you build up a good foundation in Chinese with a particular focus on speaking and listening for the beginner. The course will start with pinyin, tones, pronunciation, and some useful topics. students are expected to use high frequency words and expressions to make daily conversations. (The grammars of each topic can correspond to the grammars of Lessons 1 to 5 of Volume 1 of Contemporary Chinese)

None NOTE: Students who attend from the start will have priority to be accepted .

1. It's an online course. We will use Webex for the whole semester. Students are encouraged to preview new words and grammar before class to achieve the best learning results in class. 3. Students are encouraged to participate in Chinese Table, teacher consultations, and one-on-one teaching assistant sections. 4. Regular attendance is required, and students who have more than 5 unexcused absences will be failed. A total absence of 1/3 of course hours will lead to an automatic failure.

Attendance and Participation: 20% Quiz: 10% Midterm Exam (oral-15% and written-20%): 35% Final Exam (oral-15% and written-20%): 35%
