入門華語會話(二)

Introductory Chinese Conversation 2 is especially designed to build upon the foundation established in Introductory Chinese Conversation 1. This course aims to further develop students' conversational fluency and confidence in Mandarin Chinese. Through interactive activities, students will expand vocabulary, improve grammars, and refine pronunciation. By the end of the course, students will be able to comfortably engage in conversations on a wider range of everyday topics. Students, at the end of this course, are expected to be able to: - describe what someone can/can't do and how well one does it - deccribe locations, including talking about a place in the vicinity of other places - tell and ask about time, including making appointments with friends - discuss travel plans with friends, including knowing different types of transportation (The grammars in each topic correspond to the grammars from Lessons 5 to 9 of Volume 1 of A Course in Contemporary Chinese.)

Prerequisite: Introductory Chinese Conversation I or Chinese I or equivalent NOTE: Teacher reserves the right to drop the students who miss the first class.

1. Students are encouraged to attend Chinese Table, Mandarin Consultation, Chinese Culture Salon and one-on-one teaching assistant sections.

Evaluation: Attendance and Class Participation: 10% Homework: 10% Oral Test 1-2 : 50% Oral Test 3: 30%
