課程綱要(中) 本課程主要由三個主題貫穿之: 第一個主題(涵蓋前五次上課)以「結構」為探討重點,帶領同學認識不同型態與功能的牙齒,牙齒的基本構造,以及上下顎的基本構造與功能。 第二個主題(涵蓋第六至第十次上課)以「功能」為探討重點,著重於認識牙齒以外的口腔功能,特別側重口腔的神經生理系統與微生物學的相關機制。 第三個主題(涵蓋最後四次上課)以「全人」為探討重點,將口腔科學的探討議題延伸至飲食(如咀嚼吞嚥),社交(如牙齒美白)以及全身系統性疾病之間的關聯。 The course is organized into three modules, which focus on the following topic of dental research and oral health: (A) Module I: the structure and function of the oral system, including an introduction to dental anatomy and chewing and swallowing. (B) Module II: the biological mechanisms behind dental treatment and oral health. (C) Module III: the association between oral health and general health.
教學目標(中) 本課程旨在提供(A)牙醫系一年級新生以及(B)非臨床醫護領域的學生(包括理工電資或人文商管領域的同學),凡有興趣了解口腔科學者,認識口腔與牙科治療相關的生醫基礎知識。本課程將聚焦於下列目標: 1. 提供同學關於牙體形態學、口腔解剖學、口腔組織學、口腔生理學與咬合學等的基本介紹。使同學掌握口腔功能的生醫基礎,進一步引發同學根據本身的專業,結合口腔科學做跨領域的思辯。 2. 藉由了解基本的口腔相關生醫知識,引發同學進一步認識牙科治療的重要議題,例如牙周病治療、牙齒敏感、牙齒美白等常見議題。也能進一步了解口腔科學在日常生活中扮演的角色,包括咀嚼吞嚥、攝食、口腔清潔的生活應用議題。 3. 介紹有關牙科治療與口腔健康照顧背後的科學原理,例如咀嚼吞嚥有關的神經生理機制,與矯正美白治療有關的心理學原理等,引發牙醫系新生與跨領域學生投入相關研究的興趣。 The course is designed for first-year dental students and students from healthcare-related fields who want to know more about biomedical research in dentistry. The course is also suitable for students from non-healthcare-related fields to study some basic topics in dental research. The students are expected to (1) identify and define the key biological concepts related to oral health, (2) describe the key methods for clinical assessment and research of oral health, and (3) recognize the unsolved problems in dental research.
