評分方式

The lectures are provided on E3 as Powerpoint files. If you have any problems at all with any aspect of the course, please e-mail me. There will be no timetabled examinations for this course and you will be assessed based on your two submitted assignments. The timetable below will be kept to as much as possible, but there is some flexibility in the assignment dates. This course will consist of Lectures (2 hours) and two Assignments over 9 weeks. Objectives To introduce Scientific Writing in English that will identify the important aspects of spelling, grammar, sentence construction and organization of writing that cause problems when beginning to write scientific papers and similar documents. At the end of the course the student should be able to look critically at their own scientific writing in English and identify problems in it. Outline This course will consist of Lectures (2 hours) and two Assignments over 9 weeks. Assessment The marks for the two assignments form the final course mark. Each assignment is worth 50% of the overall mark. Thus if you fail to submit one assignment you fail. If you fail to get a mark or a returned assignment and you believe you have submitted it, there is probably a problem with E3 and you need to contact me by email on ralph_kirby@icloud.com .
