當代社會面臨系統性的風險和災難常態化,例如極端氣候災害頻傳、福島核災、全球傳染病。科技的創新發展往往伴隨著新型態的風險和不確定性,複雜的大型社會技術系統(sociotechnological system)一旦失靈,將釀成不可逆轉的災難。本課程結合STS與跨學科的理論觀點,探討風險與災難研究的發展、新趨向和關鍵研究議題。課程單元主題包括風險研究的重要理論取徑、風險治理、風險溝通、管制性科學、預警原則、災難與社會技術系統、災難知識與公民行動、災害防救體系等,期能增進同學對重要文獻的掌握,並提升對風險與災難議題的分析和獨立研究能力。

老師針對課程單元綜合介紹,學生輪流負責導讀該週指定閱讀教材,修課同學須在課前將該週指定教材閱讀完,並積極參與課堂討論。
