概述
嚴格定義下的「精神科學」(psy sciences)源自西方,最初發展亦由西方主導。隨著時間的推進,精神科學及其多樣的知識與技術功能(如精神醫學、精神治療、心理衛生、心理學、精神分析、心理諮商等)已在東亞各地生根茁壯,發展出各具特色的樣貌。精神科學在西方與東亞間,乃至東亞各地間的流動過程中,精神科學本身與個體、觀念、實作制度、政治與社會脈動間的互動情形,以及此互動過程如何又與東亞當代的文化與社會相互形構,目前諸多議題值得進一步開發。本課程透過研讀相關領域之專論,以瞭解精神科學在東亞乃至國際發展的特殊軌跡。討論議題包含療養院機構的運作,瘋狂的聲音,概念的移動,帝國擴張保衛社會及冷戰等情境下的精神科學,以及文化精神科學等。
