Human-Centric Computing (HCC) is the science of decoding human behaviors. HCC seeks to provide a computational account of aspects of human behavior ranging from interaction patterns to individual emotion expression using techniques drawn from both signal processing and machine learning. However, the complexity of this new domain necessitates alterations to common data collection, modeling techniques and computing capability (including cloud computing). In this laboratory, we will cover the techniques that underlie the state-of-the-art systems in the human-centric computing field. Students will develop a critical understanding of HCC systems ranging from deep learning, UAV control, brain computer interaction and state estimation. The course evaluation will include weekly homework and two team competitions.
