The purposes of hydraulic engineering include water supply management, water excess, and ecological conservation. As such, the first part of this course covers the principles of fluid hydraulics and teaches students how to solve engineering problems, such as introducing reservoir characteristics, analyzing dam suffering forces, designing drainage systems, calculating open channel flow, and understanding hydraulic machinery. The second part introduces the current focus of hydraulic engineering, including applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and nature-based solutions.
