Blockchain technology enables a publicly verifiable ledger to exist on top of the internet. Started as a grassroots movement from cryptographers, it now has become a valid infrastructure for financial assets. In this course we quickly go over the history and basic concepts of blockchain, and dive deep into smart contract development on EVM, the dominant smart contract execution environment that has been adopted by most chains. Along the way, we will discuss different financial infrastructures that have been built and how they have been attacked. Finally, we will touch on concepts outside of smart contract development such as MEV, Layer 2, Privacy that are being push forward in the blockchain industry.
