Computer graphics is the field of visual computing, where one utilizes computers to synthesize visual images realistically or in specific styles. It is a basis of 3D computer game, computer animation, virtual reality, and digital visual effects. This course will introduce fundamental algorithms and techniques in computer graphics (especially in 3D graphics), and we will also talk about one or two advanced topics. [Intended learning Outcomes] On completion of this ICG course, a student will be able to: * Describes the fundamental concept of a computer graphics system. * Explain how an image is synthesized by a graphics system. * Compare classic graphics algorithms and assess their advantages and limitations. * Practice graphics algorithms for image and animation synthesis through graphics programming language GLSL. * Apply graphics techniques to a designated advanced task.
Computer programming C/C++, data structure, linear algebra (or matrix computation)
* Class lectures, discussions and presentations are mainly in English, but it is still welcome to ask questions or clarify issues in Mandarin Chinese. * Teaching materials (slides, assignments, etc.) are mainly in English. * The official course page is at E3, NYCU
