In this course, we will focus on two topics including classical optimization problems and optimal controls. During the first seven weeks, numerical methods for solving the optimization problems will be introduced and applied to solving problems in data science and image processing. Next, we will introduce some basic mathematical theory of control process and its application on robotic dynamics.
Calculus, Linear Algebra
The grading policies are based on two parts: 1. Homework assignments (40%): we expect to have four homework. 2. Final project (60%): we expect to have two projects (one is related to optimization algorithms; the other is related to its applications).
