The class focuses on the Pinyin system and intonation, aiming to build basic abilities in Chinese speaking and listening. The course will train students to use basic conversation in their daily lives and immerse themselves in a Chinese-speaking environment. Through class activities, students will be able to ask simple questions and improve their fundamental communication skills.
No Chinese background is required for this course.
Course policy: 1. Students must attend the first two weeks of class. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please obtain approval from the instructor via email before the semester begins. 2. Complete assignments on time. Late homework will not be accepted. 3. Attend classes regularly and on time. 4. The lecturer reserves the right to make changes to the course schedule based on the progress of the class and other unexpected circumstances.
Attendance: 10% Participation: 20% Assignments: 20% Midterm Exam: 20% Final Exam: 30%
