This course introduces the fundamental concepts of polymer science including the chemical structure, synthesis, thermal and mechanical properties, and advanced applications of polymers. Emphasis is placed on biomedical and industrial applications. / 本課程介紹高分子材料的基本概念,包括其化學結構、合成方法、熱性質與機械性質,並進一步探討其在生醫與產業領域的應用。
This is an EMI/upper-level elective course. To better engage with the course material, students are recommended to have: • Completed General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, which will aid in understanding polymerization mechanisms • Taken introductory courses in Materials Science or Biomedical Materials, which provide useful context for polymer applications • Basic ability to read scientific English literature is helpful for exploring supplemental readings and journal articles (Note: These are recommended but not mandatory. Students with an interest in polymer materials are warmly welcome to join.) 本課程為高年級選修,建議學生具備以下背景知識以利課程理解: • 修習過普通化學與有機化學者將更容易掌握聚合反應機制 • 具備材料科學或生醫材料相關課程經驗者,將有助於理解高分子在實務應用中的角色 • 如能閱讀英文科技資料,將有助於查閱補充資料與期刊文獻 (以上僅為建議,無嚴格限制,歡迎對高分子材料有興趣之同學選修)
