概述

生物化學涵蓋範圍廣泛,也是生物醫學領域重要的基礎科目之一。本課程主要著重在生物代謝的部分,也就是生物能量的轉換與產生,如何透過細胞內的酵素與輔酶的作用將攝取的養分轉換成能量,以及過多的能量如何儲存。不同養分之間又是透過何種途徑互相轉換,以及在這些過程中的關鍵分子為何,都將在此課程中一一介紹。最後,在人體內不同器官各司何種代謝功能,以及代謝分子如何在器官之內流通,也將在此課程中介紹。最後,本課程也會介紹當這些代謝途徑因某些重要酵素突變,而失去功能後將導致那些遺傳性疾病。Biochemistry is one of the most important basic courses in the field of biomedicine, and it widely covers several topics in biophysics and biochemicals, biomolecules, enzymatics, metabolism, and genetic information. In this class, we focus on the bioenergy conversion and metabolism that are mediated through enzyme/coenzyme activity. How nutrients are catabolized in cells, and how micromolecules are anabolized to macromolecules for energistic conservation. The interconversion between different types of biomolecules, as well as the critical intermediates will also be introduced. Furthermore, the nutrients metabolism in various organs, and the transport of metabolites among organs are also important parts of this course. The diseases caused by genetic inability of metabolic pathways are also discussed here.
