概述

This course is designed for students at the CEFR B2 level, focusing on the development of academic public speaking and presentation skills in English. It introduces the fundamentals of public speaking and strategies for oral communication in academic contexts, including formal speech planning, research-supported presentations, and strategies for engaging academic audiences. Students will engage in structured activities that simulate real-world academic tasks, such as presenting research findings, responding to questions, and designing presentation aids. Frequent class discussions and interactive exercises will provide extensive opportunities for oral practice, enabling students to refine their speaking abilities and build confidence. At least 80% of the course content is dedicated to academic themes and tasks, including source-supported speaking, logical organization of ideas, and effective use of academic language. By the end of the course, students will be able to: • Confidently deliver clear and engaging speeches and presentations. • Respond effectively to audience questions during Q&A sessions. • Create logical and well-organized speech outlines. • Design impactful and accessible presentation aids. • Utilize vocal delivery, body language, and audience engagement techniques. • Manage public speaking anxiety and build confidence.
