The primary goals are 1. To build physical pictures of electromagnetics. 2. To know and apply the mathematical tools to solve electromagnetic problems. 3. To know connections of electromagnetics to current science and technology. This undergraduate course introduces electromagnetics and focuses on vector analysis as a key mathematical tool. We will explore the relationships between electric fields (or potentials) and static charges, as well as how to characterize these fields within materials. We will also learn to describe magnetic fields under steady currents and formulate these fields inside materials. As we progress, we will address dynamic charges and currents, ultimately constructing Maxwell's Equations. The course will highlight the physical significance of these equations and provide an overview of electromagnetic applications.
