• Understand fundamental concepts of stress, strain, and material properties. • Apply equilibrium and stress–strain relations to solve axial, torsional, and bending problems. • Analyze stress, strain, and deformation in structural members under combined loading. • Design basic structural elements (beams, shafts, columns) for strength and stiffness. • Evaluate material behavior and select appropriate materials for engineering applications.
