This course aims to familiarize students with the techniques of close reading, to sharpen students’ interpretive skills in writing about literature, film, and popular culture as well as to help students understand how to use library and online resources to gather information on individual texts, writers and related areas.

Writing assignments (including revisions) 45% Term paper 30% (8-10 pages) Class attendance and participation 25 % (Please mark: more than 3 unexplained absences will lead to a failing grade!)
