A pre-seminar to the study of music from a cultural and comparative perspective.

教學方式

Course homepage at E3 (http://e3new.nctu.edu.tw). Students will take turn to present the assigned reading in the form of summary (the text's key themes, their contexts, arguments, and evidences) and commentary (your questions and discussions). By the Sunday evening before class, the student in charge should upload his presentation in 1,500 words to E3; all others should do similarly in 500 words. Materials and detail instruction will be provided in E3.

評分方式

Grading: Participation (40%): attendance and contribution to discussion (including response writings). Presentation (30%): orally, ca. 20 minutes (final). Paper (30%): ca. 3000-word critical/review essay (revised from the 1,500-word presentation).
