概述

In response to growing global interest in addressing complex societal challenges through innovative and entrepreneurial approaches, this course explores the dynamic field of social innovation and entrepreneurship, with a particular emphasis on technology-driven solutions. This course is designed to provide students with a theoretical and practical foundation in understanding the principles and frameworks central to social innovation and technology entrepreneurship. Through a combination of interactive lectures, case studies, seminars, and applied research projects, students will learn to critically analyze real-world social issues and entrepreneurial responses. The course also equips students with essential research skills tailored to this interdisciplinary domain. Learning Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Understand and Apply Key Concepts: Demonstrate an understanding of key concepts, theories, and frameworks in social innovation and entrepreneurship, and apply them to analyze and address contemporary social and environmental challenges. 2. Design and Conduct Research: Formulate relevant research questions and apply appropriate qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies to investigate issues related to social innovation and technology entrepreneurship. 3. Develop and Communicate Solutions: Collaboratively design innovative solutions to real-world problems, and effectively communicate research findings and project outcomes through written reports, presentations, and academic discourse.

先修科目

Students are expected to have completed prior research courses offered by the course instructor. A foundational understanding of research design, methodology, and academic writing is essential for successful participation in this course.

This course will adopt a blended teaching approach combining lectures, seminars, discussions, presentations, and project-based learning.

評分方式

Class Participation (Individual) 30% Assignment I 30% Assignment II 40% Total 100% Class Participation includes attendance, contributions to discussions, engagement in seminars and workshops, reflection homework, and collaborative learning behaviour. Assignments I & II may include case analyses, project proposals, field research, or reflective essays, and will be further explained during the course.
