先修科目

The lecturer will explain the syllabus in detail on the first day of class. The syllabus will also be uploaded to e 3. It is the students’ responsibility to browse the syllabus by themselves first and take full responsibility of knowing what’s expected of them in this class. Students who do not show up on the first day of class without any proper reason will be removed from the list.

教學方式

1. Students should check the syllabus and materials uploaded by the instructor on the assigned database first instead of keeping emailing the instructor asking questions. If students have questions, he or she should stay after each class to ask the instructor face to face. 2. Students should participate in class actively. 40 points will be deducted from the attendance score if you skip one class and 20 points will be deducted from the attendance score if you are 20 minutes late each time. If you skip the class 3 times, both of your attendance score and participation score will be zero points. 3. Students who are sick or have other emergencies can ask for a leave via NYCU Students Leave System and inform the instructor face-to-face next time in class. However, constant asking for sick leave such as headaches, stomachaches etc. without any proof is viewed as excuses and will not be accepted by the instructor. 4. No late assignments will be accepted unless you have legitimate and proper reasons to inform the instructor beforehand. This course will mainly focus on students’ active analytical reading comprehension of different reading articles and help students improve greatly in their English oral expression! The instructor will also use related videos to help students stimulate more ideas in response to discussions. Students should participate in the class actively and ask the teacher in person if he or she has trouble understanding the teacher’s written instructions. If students skip the class more than 3 times without any proper reason, he or she will receive 0 points on participation and attendance. No late assignments and exams will be accepted as students should be aware of the deadlines set by the teacher unless valid proof is presented. Textbook readings and other resources might be assigned to students to read at home first.
