This course covers hierarchical levels of organization in biological systems and topics of related diseases are given as examples that leads toward development of suitable technologies that address fundamental questions and problems in examination, diagnosis and therapeutics. In the orders of hierarchical organization of biological systems, tissue, cell, and molecular levels, different of types of specialized photonic technologies are then detailed with theoretical concepts, components and system integration for biological and medical imaging, diagnostics and therapeutics.
