本課程之目的是在六年制物理治療師養成教育中，培育大四學生具備輔助科技服務之專業基礎產品知識、評估與處方及實務應用。 This course is to enable students of the professional (6-year-entry-level) physical therapist education program to build up the fundamental knowledge on assistive products, needs assessment and prescription and related clinical applications for persons with disability. 本課程包含有介紹(1)輔助科技服務、體系與政策、輔具評估概論、輔具使用者之基本人體量測；(2)坐姿擺位系統、手動輪椅、推車、電動輪椅、電動代步車、汽機車改裝、居家用電動床、預防壓瘡輔具、轉移位輔具、居家無障礙環境改造與產品、上肢義肢、下肢義肢、下肢矯具、脊椎矯具、上肢矯具、電腦輔具及環境控制輔具等產品、評估及實務應用；與(3)截肢者的物理治療介入&繃帶應用技術。本課程將要求每位同學於學期中完成一份輔具案例實務個案報告，包含以使用者為中心之需求評估、全方位輔具處方與預期輔具使用效益。 Contents of this course include introduction of (1) assistive technology services, systems, policies, needs assessment and prescription of assistive products and its basic human body measurement; (2) positioning systems, manual and push wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs, scooters and vehicle adaptations, beds with powered adjustment and seats, back and bed cushions to prevent pressure sores, assistive products for changing body position and for lifting persons, assistive products or environmental modification to improve home accessibility, upper and lower limb prostheses, upper ,spinal and lower limb orthoses, assistive products for using computers and environmental control and related needs assessment, prescription and clinical applications ; and (3) physical therapy for persons with amputees and related bandage management for their stumps. By end of this course, each student is required to complete a case report with a person-centered needs assessment, total solution of assistive technology prescription and expected service benefits from using the prescribed assistive products.
