概述

An algorithm refers to rules or instructions for solving problems or performing calculations. On the other hand, data structures involve organizing and storing data elements based on their relationship. A good algorithm incorporating sound data structures helps manipulate data efficiently. This course focuses on teaching students about these fundamental topics in computer science, algorithms, and data structures, as well as how to use the C programming language to implement them in bioinformatics and related data structures. 良好的資料結構及有效率的演算法將可以提昇程式的執行效率，這門課主要是探討如何將資料更有組織地存放到電腦中，以及如何讓程式之執行更有效率的一門學問，並以探討生物資訊中相關演算法以及其對應的資料儲存結構。
