Engineering mathematics serves as an indispensable toolset in the realm of biomedical sciences. This course includes ordinary differential equations (ODEs), Fourier analysis, numeric analysis, probability theory, and mathematical statistics. 1. Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) ODEs model dynamic processes in biology, such as neural conduction and drug metabolism, aiding in understanding system stability and response dynamics. 2. Fourier Analysis Used for processing biological signals like ECGs and EEGs, Fourier analysis helps identify signal periodicity and frequency distribution, crucial in signal enhancement and medical imaging. 3. Numeric Analysis Numeric methods simulate complex biological dynamics and process signal and image data, offering solutions for filtering signals and enhancing medical images. 4. Probability, Statistics Statistical methods inform clinical trial design, analyze disease epidemiology, and evaluate diagnostic test accuracy, vital for bioinformatics in genomic and protein data analysis. This course enables students to understand and learn the mathematical knowledge required in the field of biomedical sciences, encompassing modeling, signal processing, and statistical analysis.
