本課程旨在培養博士生之學術閱讀、批判思考與口頭報告能力,透過定期研讀最新國際期刊論文,訓練學生:系統性理解前沿研究議題與發展趨勢,分析研究方法、實驗設計與科學邏輯,建立跨領域溝通與學術討論能力,提升英文簡報與即時應答能力,與強化研究倫理與學術寫作素養,特別是製作圖形摘要的能力。This course aims to cultivate doctoral students' academic reading, critical thinking, and oral presentation skills. Through regular study of the latest international journal articles, students will be trained to: systematically understand cutting-edge research topics and development trends; analyze research methods, experimental design, and scientific logic; build interdisciplinary communication and academic discussion skills; improve their English presentation and immediate response abilities; and strengthen their research ethics and academic writing skills, especially their ability to create or design graphic abstracts.
1. 學術文獻閱讀能力:能閱讀並理解國際期刊論文(英文)。 2. 基礎研究素養:具備實驗設計、數據分析與圖表判讀之基本概念。 3. 口頭簡報能力:能以英文進行學術報告與討論。 4. 批判性思考能力:可針對研究方法、結果與機制提出分析與問題。 5. 學術倫理認知:了解引用規範與研究倫理原則。 1. Academic Literature Comprehension: Demonstrates the ability to read, interpret, and critically understand peer‑reviewed international journal articles written in English. 2. Fundamental Research Literacy: Possesses foundational knowledge of experimental design, quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis, and the interpretation of scientific figures and graphs. 3. Oral Scientific Communication: Is capable of delivering formal academic presentations and engaging in scholarly discussions in English. 4. Critical Analytical Competence: Is able to formulate analytical and probing questions regarding research methodologies, empirical findings, and underlying mechanisms or theoretical frameworks. 5. Awareness of Academic Ethics: Understands and adheres to principles of proper citation, avoidance of plagiarism, and general standards of research integrity and ethical conduct.
本課程以學生報告為主,每週由1位博士生針對近五年生物科技領域之國際Q1期刊論文進行口頭報告25分鐘,深入解析與討論,回覆全體修課同學之提問(20分鐘)。報告內容包含自行設計之圖形摘要、研究背景、方法、結果、機制探討及未來展望,並由全體修課學生參與提問與評論。 This course is structured primarily around student-led presentations. Each week, one doctoral student will deliver a 25-minute oral presentation on a Q1-ranked international journal article in the field of biotechnology published within the last five years, followed by an in-depth critical analysis and group discussion, and a 20-minute question-and-answer session involving all enrolled students. Each presentation must include a self-designed graphical abstract, a concise overview of the research background, a description of the experimental or computational methods, a summary and interpretation of the key results, a mechanistic discussion where applicable, and an outlook on future research directions. All students are required to actively participate in the Q&A segment and in providing scholarly commentary on the presented work.
