This course introduces students to the practical application of Human Resource Management (HRM) in business organizations. Focusing on real-world cases and managerial decision-making, the course examines how organizations recruit, select, train, motivate, and retain employees in competitive environments. Students will analyze HRM practices through case studies, examples from local and international firms, and class discussions to understand how HR policies and systems influence employee behavior and organizational performance. The course also introduces fundamental strategic HRM concepts to illustrate how human resource decisions align with organizational goals. In addition, contemporary challenges such as globalization, technological change, workforce diversity, and changing employment relationships are explored. By the end of the course, students will be able to evaluate HRM practices, apply basic HR concepts to managerial situations, and develop practical insights relevant to future careers in business and management.
Prior coursework in management, organizations, or a related business discipline is recommended.
