This course introduces the foundational principles of optoelectronic materials, devices, and system design. It covers both passive and active optoelectronic devices, with a focus on the underlying physical concepts and practical applications. Students will learn essential design formulas and develop the skills required to effectively analyze and design optoelectronic components. Optical instruments, such as microscopes, will be explored in relation to the course content. Toward the end of the course, students will work in small groups to deliver presentations on optical systems (or optical instruments) and submit a final report.
