* 根據陽明交大上課時間表所列
This course aims at developing and enhancing students' public speaking skills so they can apply the learned skills in presentations targeting academic settings. Each student is required to complete a group presentation on an assigned lesson, practicing how to systematically give an informative and persuasive speech, how to manage voice and gestures smoothly, how to construct effective introductions and conclusions as well as how to handle visual aids easily. In doing these, students can develop their confidence and fluency while they are presenting. The instruction also includes various speaking and pronunciation drills.
Unless you have a good reason, please do not be absent. If you are absent without completing the application in the NYCU online leave system, you will be automatically removed from the list.
1. Class materials will be uploaded to the new E3 platform. 2. Active participation is required. Students are welcome to bring in their personal experience in public speaking and presentation as well as share their methods of improving the subject matter. 3. If you are absent due to uncontrollable situations, such as acute/severe illness, emergency, important occasions, etc., please email the instructor for leave and provide the valid proof within 2 weeks. The medication receipt with correct stamp of date by accredited hospitals can be seen as a valid proof. If you are absent for more than 3 lessons without advance notice, you will fail the course. 4. Absence from a class is no excuse for not knowing the assignment and what has been discussed in class. It is the student’s responsibility to ask the classmates or the instructor what has been covered in the class.
