概述

The fundamentals of each additive manufacturing (AM) technology are introduced in terms of its basic process, enabling students to understand, develop, and optimize each technology. Students will discuss why AM is crucial to many branches of industry and will design and fabricate several AM parts through hands-on exercises and projects. Course activities are used to connect the lecture content with real-world application cases.

教學方式

Topics: Labs • Use Slic3r to introduce the basic 3D-printing workflow, including STL file repair and slicing. • Use a plastic FDM 3D printer to reinforce the 3D-printing workflow, covering software tools (Netfabb and other pre-processing software) and hardware (FDM printer), followed by hands-on printing. • Perform laser processing experiments on 3D stainless-steel parts to investigate how the laser focus position affects the machining results. • Use a metal 3D printer to introduce the fundamental concepts and workflow of metal additive manufacturing.
