課程目標與內容概述: The course is developed for undergraduate students with no technical background in science and engineering. This course provides an introductory overview of core issues in sustainable development, as well as an introduction to the technologies and methods necessary to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations. Students will learn the principles of sustainable development and systematic analysis strategies for addressing environmental issues in conjunction with the United Nations' SDGs, such as clean water, affordable energy, sustainable cities, health and well-being, terrestrial ecosystems, etc. Sustainable Development Goals: 1. Good health and well-being (良好健康與福祉) 2. Clean water and sanitation (清潔飲水和衛生設施) 3. Affordable and clean energy (經濟適用的清潔能源) 4. Industry, innovation and infrastructure (產業、創新與基礎建設) 5. Sustainable cities and communities (可持續城市與社區) 6. Responsible consumption and production (負責任消費和生產) 7. Climate action (氣候行動) 8. Life below water (水下生物) 9. Life on land (陸地生物)
每週由不同教師講述不同議題,必要時學生進行分組討論。議題包含水資源短缺與永續供水、空氣污染防治、化學物質對環境的影響、基礎毒理學與生物修復、核能與太陽能、地熱能、綠色工業革命、可再生能源系統的政治經濟治理及其對建立永續社區的重要性。
