錯誤糾正碼在現代科技上被普遍的應用, 如 RS codes 被利用於光碟讀取時的錯誤糾正. 這門課的目的是介紹一些基本編碼理論. 修習編碼理論, 一方面我們將看到數學概念如何應用到生活上, 另一方面也能對高中機率及大學的線性代數, 代數學, 離散數學作適當的連結. Error-correcting codes are widely used in modern technology, for example, RS codes are utilized for error correction when reading optical discs. The purpose of this course is to introduce some fundamental coding theory. By studying coding theory, we will see how mathematical concepts are applied in real life and, at the same time, make appropriate connections to high school probability, and linear algebra, algebra, and discrete mathematics studied in university.
微積分(一)、線性代數(一二) 與 代數(一) (Calculus I, Linear Algebra I, II and Algebra I)
Use ppt and e3 system.
作業部份: 5-6次作業。 考試部份: 期中期末考以作業相關題目為主要的出題內容。 評量部份:作業 (Homework) 30%、 期中 (midterm) 30%、 期末 (final) 40%。
