This course introduces the foundational theories and conceptual frameworks of Human Resource Management (HRM). By the end of the course, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the core issues, functions, and processes of HRM within business organizations. Emphasis is placed on strategic HRM perspectives that examine how integrated HRM systems support recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and employee retention, and how these systems contribute to organizational performance. This course also examines contemporary developments in HRM theory in response to globalization, technological change, and evolving social contexts, equipping students with the analytical and conceptual tools necessary to evaluate and design effective HRM systems in modern organizations.
Prior coursework in management, organizations, or a related business discipline is recommended.
