This course is an English for General Purposes (EGP) course designed to develop students' general English proficiency at the CEFR B2 level, with a focus on reading and speaking skills. Approximately 50% of the course content is academic-based. Students will develop reading skills through authentic materials and enhance speaking skills through interactive activities. By the end of the course, students will be able to: 1. Comprehend reading materials on more specialized or sophisticated topics. 2. Identify and analyze points of view, arguments, and implicit information. 3. Summarize and respond to reading materials through appropriate spoken and written output. 4. Participate actively in academic discussions, debates, and group activities. 5. Demonstrate confidence and competence in academic English communication.
Students need upper-intermediate level of English proficiency.

Students who take this course need to be aware that it is mandatory to attend most sessions. The scores will be evaluated upon the following criteria: Attendance (10%) Participation (40%) Mid-term Exam (25%) Final Exam (25%) **Participation (40%) will be evaluated based on: - Active contribution in class and group discussions. - Clarity, relevance, and accuracy of speaking. - Engagement and collaboration in group activities. - Timely and conscientious completion of in-class tasks. - Preparation, responsiveness, and overall learning attitude.
