This course focuses on building academic English communication skills at the B2 level to prepare students for academic success. Approximately 80% of the course content is academic-related. Students will enhance their ability to understand extended academic spoken texts and express ideas clearly and effectively in academic discussions and presentations.Students will enhance their ability to understand extended academic spoken texts and express ideas clearly and effectively in academic discussions and presentations. The course emphasizes the development of coherent speech, argumentation, critical thinking, and the integration of spoken and visual information in an academic context. By the end of the course, students will learn to: - understand extended spoken academic texts (e.g., lectures, discussions) and identify key ideas, supporting details, and speaker attitudes - synthesize spoken input with visual materials (e.g., charts, diagrams) to interpret and convey meaning accurately - participate actively in academic discussions e.g. debates - deliver clear, well-organized academic presentations
If you do not show up in the first day of class, you will be automatically dropped from the course. English level: CEFR B2 *** Students are required to be prepared with the designed topic before the class and actively communicate with other students using English in each class.
