課程概述與目標: This course (ESP) aims to help students to speak confidently and effectively in the fast-paced world of international business. Through role-play, interactive dialogs / meaningful conservation practice, this course enhances students with English for meetings, English for Negotiating and English for Socializing. In addition, the course also includes case studies in preparation & strategies for virtual online meetings, successful negotiations with cross-cultural considerations and the controversy of mandatory socializing to reinforce learned vocabulary, structures and situational strategies. By the end of this course, students will be able to: 1. Understand and interpret business topics using appropriate vocabulary, structures and situational strategies. 2. Communicate effectively in spoken English in international multi-cultural business environment. 3. Participate confidently in (virtual online) meetings, discussions, presentations, and/or negotiations, using appropriate language. 4. Engage in role-plays simulating negotiations and client interactions. 5. Demonstrate awareness of cultural and communicative conventions in global world.
If you do not show up in the first day of class, you will be automatically dropped from the course. English level: CEFR B2-C1 *** Students are required to be prepared with the designed topic before the class and actively communicate with other students using English in each class.
