華語(二)

This basic course is specially designed to further develop a broader range of vocabulary and sentence structures for those foreign students who had taken Chinese 1 course in NYCU. The course is designed as an integrated 4-skill (listening, speaking, writing & reading) curriculum for students to acquire the ability of daily communication in Chinese. Students, at the end of this course, are expected to be able to: - communicate with Chinese native speakers at normal speed with familiar vocabulary, such as "Where is your lab?", "What is near your school?" - invite someone by using time and place - comprehend short written passages with familiar vocabulary - know more radicals.

Prerequisite: Chinese I or equivalent NOTE: Students who attend from the start will have priority to be accepted.

Reminders: 1.Students who missed the first two classes will be dropped from the course. 2.For effective learning, students are required to handwrite the vocabulary (Chinese characters) in every lesson for multiple times to achieve familiarity 3.Regular attendance is required, and students who have more than 5 unexcused absences will be failed. A total absence of 1/3 of course hours will lead to an automatic failure. 4.Please be reminded that your homework must be submitted on time. Late homework cannot be accepted. 5. The lecturer reserves the right to make changes to the course schedule based on the actual progress of the class.

Grading： Attendance and Participation: 12% Quizzes: 10% Homework : 10% Midterm Exam : 30% Final Exam: 35% Attend Chinese Table (at least one time): 3%
