Course Overview: Cancer Cell Biology is a graduate-level course designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development, progression, and metastasis. This course will emphasize the exploration of the cancer hallmarks and the corresponding treatment and prevention strategies. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on practice with bioinformatics tools, problem-based learning (PBL) presentations, and writing assignments, students will gain comprehensive knowledge and practical skills essential for advanced research and clinical practice in oncology. Course Objectives: By the end of this course, students will be able to: 1. Introduce the fundamental concepts and key processes in cancer cell biology 2. Recognize the biological hallmarks of cancer 3. Explore the development of cancer therapy and vaccines 4. Apply bioinformatics tools and biomedical techniques in cancer research 5. Develop scientific speaking, writing, and critical thinking skills
No specific prerequisites are required for this course. However, a basic understanding of biology, genetics, and cell biology would be beneficial. Proficiency in scientific reading, writing, and critical thinking skills is also important for the successful completion of the course.
