This is a one-semester required course in differential equations. As a student majoring in physics, this subject is very helpful in your future coursework such as electrodynamics and quantum physics. During this semester, you will learn a number of approaches to solve different types of ordinary and partial differential equations. More importantly, you will learn Fourier analysis and Laplace methods which are core knowledge in studying optics and electronic circuits. The following topics will be covered. 1. First-order differential equations 2. Second-order linear differential equations 3. Higher-order linear differential equations 4. Series solutions of first-order and second-order linear equations 5. Systems of first-order linear equations 6. The Laplace transform 7. Partial differential equations and Fourier series 8. Boundary value problems
