After taking this course, students will be able to: 1. Elaborate on the fundamentals of the freedoms of speech and the press; 2. Apply economic principles to how the media industries operate in the commercial context; 3. Identify developments that have overtaken legacy media in recent decades in light of the digital revolution; 4. Define and differentiate the roles of advertising, public relations, news, and entertainment media in modern society.
