This course is about learning statistics in a way that connects directly to the world of artificial intelligence. While AI tools are changing how we analyze and use data, the course emphasizes that statistics remains the foundation for making sound and reliable decisions. You’ll get plenty of hands-on practice: working with GitHub, tackling in-class exercises, and collaborating with classmates. Participation is a big part of the learning process—through teamwork, homework uploads, presentations, and occasional cold calls, everyone will be encouraged to stay active and involved. The exams are designed to test your understanding of key ideas while letting you use a formula sheet and calculator to focus on applying concepts rather than memorizing. By the end of the course, you’ll not only strengthen your statistical thinking but also gain practical experience in tools and habits that will help you thrive in today’s AI-driven environment.

This introductory course in statistics aims to provide a solid foundation for students who are new to the field. With no prerequisites required, this course welcomes beginners with a curious mindset and a belief in statistics as a systematic scientific approach, rather than a mere collection of formulas. While a mathematical background can be advantageous, it is not essential for success in this course.
